I’m a Master Certified Coach, yoga and mindfulness teacher, pediatrician, physician wellness expert, and founder of Pause & Presence.

I am a graduate of Dartmouth College and UCSF Medical School.

I help people who are “successful on the surface yet struggling underneath” find relief, feel better, and discover a more aligned path forward.

I mostly coach physicians, because I am one.

I also love to coach Type A high-achievers of all kinds.  I coach software and google execs, Ivy League graduates, attorneys, dentists, physical therapists, nurses, retirees, and stay-at-home parents.

Seven years ago, I had achieved “all the things.” 

I had an Ivy League degree from Dartmouth, an MD from UCSF, a thriving pediatric practice, and several significant leadership positions at TPMG. I had a husband, a house, 3 sons, and even a dog.  

On the surface I was successful. And yet, as is true for so many of you, I was struggling.  

Checking all the boxes did not lead me to peace, contentment, and joy.

When my husband of 22 years began to struggle with his mental health, the added stress exacerbated my tendencies to try to “fix,” manage and control.   

I found solutions through a combination of mindfulness and coaching.

When I changed myself, everything changed.

I started with one deep breath. 

From here, I learned to pause and be present and notice.  And then respond with clarity and intention. 

This approach transformed my health, my doctoring, my parenting, and my marriage. 

Coaching taught me to think and live differently.

 


The blend of life coaching with yoga and mindfulness taught me to take full ownership of all aspects of my life.

I regained my inner calm, found my presence, lost 40 pounds, and learned to show up as a force of positivity in my life, my career, and all my relationships. 

Mindful coaching was the most impactful intervention I had come across in 20 years working in health, wellness, and medicine.

Mindfulness, compassion, and non-judgment are integral components of my coaching, yoga, and retreats.
