A poem for Jessie

Jessie. Jessie. Jessie

Poetry is not my forte

But I wanted to gift you something from the heart

And this seemed a pretty good way

You have helped thousands, and probably more

Struggling physicians to see, really see

The beauty of their lives and what was there before

God bless an encourager, who you are

The world has so few of them

And then was born Jessie

Who was destined to shine a light that before was so dim

I wanted to say thank you.

In a small but meaningful way

You helped me regain my footing

You’re a genius, what can I say

May life treat you the way you’ve treated so many others

With kindness, generosity, love, and grace

Because of you, Jessie

I now live a life that I can embrace
